Following Scanbox, I was co-managing the distribution department at Angel Films, handling PR and marketing of their theatrical titles. One of the first was the coordination of the Nordic PR & marketing campaign for Lars von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark, including the first Danish sneak-preview atKosmorama cinema in Frederiksværk, north of Copenhagen. Alongside the script development of Danish hit-comedy Shake it all about by Hella Joof, I and my colleagues started developing the promotion and marketing strategy. Angel Films distributed many other Danish and international titles including Kirikou and the sorceress, Okay, Die Stille nach dem Schuß, P.O.V, Beautiful People.
During my work at Angel Films I was offered a one-year contract at the Danish Film Institute as Marketing Producer, and took it; heading the work linked with assessing andfollowing the films applying to and selected for the market aimed 60/40 funding scheme; which has now been replaced by the Market Programme – for films with a broad audience appeal. Having read film scripts since my time at Scanbox Ent. (for acquisition mainly), I appreciated the opportunity to work more hands on here and to get to attend the ARISTA script editing workshops. I continued to read scripts for DFI until 2010.
